Of course, it is a great hardship to lose 25% of your paycheck to a Wage Garnishment. If your employer gives you a notice of garnishment you have ten days before you will lose 25% of your next check. During holidays this can be even more of à hardship. Last week I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcies for debtors that had been served with Garnishments and they received their full wages. I will do this on an emergency basis and give notice to the sheriff to stop the garnishment.
